What is the Best Hotel for Families in Orlando?
The answer? Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive.
And now you’re asking, Why? Here are five reasons:
1. Prime Hotel Location: Orlando International Drive
Stay where you play! Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive is near I-4, Florida Turnpike, and SR 528, in the heart of Orlando International Drive. It is only 12 minutes from the MCO international airport by car.
If you are not familiar with the I drive, you’ll be delighted to learn that it is a walkable neighborhood with multiple attractions, lots of options for dining and world-class shopping. We visited to celebrate my husband’s birthday and we had plans to experience the Pirates Diner Adventure and to visit the ICON Park – home of The Wheel. Matter of fact, both were literally minutes away from this hotel. We simply couldn’t have asked for a better area to stay.
As if that’s not enough, this resort offers complimentary shuttle service to popular parks such as Universal Studios, Island of Adventure and SeaWorld Orlando. Similar transportation option to Walt Disney World is also available for guests at a nominal charge.
2. The Most Upscale and Modern Hotel Accommodations in Orlando
After an hour and a half driving we arrived at the hotel for check in. The process went smooth and the customer service I received was top-notch. As soon as we opened the doors of our rooms and I took a peak, I immediately knew our stay was going to be one for the books.
The rooms at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive are absolutely stunning. We booked two rooms, one with two beds for the girls and then one king-bed suite that connected to our daughters’ room.
The hotel recently underwent a million-dollar renovation, and wow was it worth it! Every single detail I discovered made me fall in love more and more with this place. The exquisite taste in decoration, the comfortable beds with pillow-top mattresses, the bathrooms with massage showers, the flat-screen next-generation TV! Seriously, what’s not to love? The suite looked like a cover of a magazine.
And on top of that, they knew we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday so when we got to our room we found a charcuterie board with delicious cheese, fruits and nuts to pair with the most amazing wine. How awesome is that? So thoughtful!
Honestly, the room accommodations at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive are among the best we have experienced in a hotel so far and the customer service was amazing. They really made us feel like royalty!
3. Resort Amenities Perfect for Families Visiting Orlando
I really loved our morning walks through this property because it has the most beautiful lagoons and landscapes typical of a true Florida resort. My daughters especially enjoyed the fauna, especially the little ducks.
If you like to stay active during your vacations, at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive you will enjoy a newly renovated wellness center that includes a fitness center with modern equipment, a sauna and steam rooms. Additionally, they have two outdoor pools and heated spa. Amazing, isn’t it?
They have ample self-parking and I give them bonus points for having wheelchair accessible rooms and pools. Additionally, there’s a 24-hour technology lounge -which came in handy when I forgot to print my tickets for our Pirates Dinner Adventure!- and a very helpful information kiosk with options to learn more about the resort, local attractions, dining & shopping and transportation.
4. Delicious Dining Options for Families in Orlando
There’s plenty of options for dining if you stay at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive. You will find tons of restaurants that are walking distance. If you’d rather stay and relax at the hotel, then you are also covered.
Breakfast buffet is served from 6:30am – 11:00am at Gatorville Poolside Bar & Grill. And the best part is you will find a wide variety of options from warm oatmeal and pancakes to fresh fruits, scrambled eggs and your choice of bacon or sausages. They are also open for lunch and dinner. I can almost hear you thinking, what if I’m enjoying the pool and I just want a snack or a frozen drink? They have those available too!
Let me guess, you also need your daily Starbuck’s coffee? You can usually get those at Barista, which is temporarily closed at the moment we are writing this article but hopefully will open again soon. In the meantime, order it at Gatorville! Craft beers and cocktails are also offered at the Lobby bar as well as small dishes.
You must be wondering, what if I want to stay relaxing and recharging in my suite? There’s always the option of room service except when it’s raining. The trick in that case is to use your favorite app, like DoorDash or Uber Eats.
